Palestinian-born oudist and violinist Nassem Dakwar will offer an overview of Arabic violin technique. Students are expected to have good violin technique and proficiency in sight reading.
Naseem Dakwar is a famous Palestinian oudist and violinist living in Israel. He has also been a composer and conductor for more than 30 years. Currently, he teaches at the Oriental Department at the Academy of Music and Dance, Jerusalem, and at Birzeit University in Ramallah.
The course is open to intermediate and advanced violinists, who are comfortable reading sheet music.
